DIRECTOR OF MANUFACTURING

Aveox, Inc. is seeking a Director of Manufacturing responsible for leading its manufacturing operations. This individual will be directly responsible for developing, manufacturing floor leadership, and ensuring that the Company’s products meet rigorous quality and performance specifications. The Director of Manufacturing will oversee the operation of Production, Machining, and Manufacturing Engineering departments. 
 
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Analyze personnel and capital resources and selecting the best method to meet production goals, monitor product standards, establish and maintain standards and product improvement.  Work with purchasing to insure quality standards are met and insure that inventory levels are maintained.
  • Reviews operations and financial performance against annual operating targets and production. Develops budget for manufacturing area and controls spending to target levels.  Monitors manufacturing gross margin and drives efforts to improve.
  • Drives programs to continually reduce manufacturing cycle time and maximize inventory turns. 
  • Lead efforts to vertically expand plant capabilities, as necessary, to extend our value chain and reduce lead times to customers.
  • Responsible for optimized inventory management of manufactured products.

  • Delegate appropriate authority/responsibility and hold employees accountable for performance. Insure that duties, responsibilities, authority and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood
 
Qualifications:
  • BA degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • 5-7 years experience in Manufacturing/Operations management in an aerospace environment (AS9100B). 
  • MRP system expertise—ability to link daily transactions to overall business strategies.
  • Must have the ability to see the big picture; to prepare contingency plans and future strategies; be proactive; initiate continuous improvement projects.
  • Strategic thinking combined with outstanding tactical execution—must possess a sense of urgency.
  • Possess financial acumen with strong budgeting KPI’s
  • Experience utilizing lean processes and concepts.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with a proficiency in standard software applications (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly and professionally interact with internal and external clients at many levels.
