
We are seeking an Operations Manager responsible for leading/developing and managing the Operations and Manufacturing departments within the organization. This individual will directly oversee the operations of the Production, Machining and Receiving departments. Responsibilities include the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new or existing products and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze department resources to effectively manage Operations – balancing the tactical and strategic demands of product introduction, equipment efficiency, material supply constraints, schedules and staffing.
- Lead efforts to vertically expand manufacturing capabilities, as necessary, to extend value chain and reduce lead times to customers.
- Monitor departmental metrics and workload of core departments – identifies best practices and opportunities areas and provides solutions for improved efficiencies.
- Anticipates requirements, trends/variances and develops action plans – measuring and analyzing results. Initiate corrective actions than minimize the impact of variances.
- Select, develop and manage the performance of the department team members.
- Review operations and financial performance against annual operating targets and production.
- Assist in developing the annual operating plan and budgets. Researches, forecasts, analyzes risks and requests appropriate allocations to drive profitability and control spending to target levels.
- Monitor manufacturing gross margin and drives efforts for improvement.
- Continually implement programs to reduce manufacturing cycle time and maximize inventory turns.
- Responsible for optimized inventory management of manufactured products.
- Communicate production status and operational plans within the Company.
- Support AS9100 Quality system and other quality programs/initiatives.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of production/manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Prior Aerospace experience is mandatory
- Demonstrated ability to develop a strategic plan to meet key business objectives/metrics in the areas of Production, Material handling, Inventory, and Cost
- Proven record of success as a “hands-on” operational leader
- Extensive experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident as defined by ITAR regulations
